DESCRIPTION:
Buckwheat seed produces a warm season annual food plot crop that is extremely early maturing with seed yields as fast as 7-10 weeks after emergence. After flowering, the seed is reluctant to shatter, thus remaining on the stalk for long periods providing seed for for turkey, ducks, dove and other game birds throughout the summer months.
Suited to almost any soil type, the plant is also attractive to deer and provides excellent summer food plot forage for deer. The plant will make clusters of small white flowers forming triangular shaped black seeds. You may mow mature seed heads for reseeding in mid-summer to extend the life of the food plot.
